Cumulus and AIGA
AIGA has joined forces with Cumulus, the International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media, in order to further the partnership of design education and sustainability that began in 2008 when AIGA endorsed the Kyoto Design Declaration, asserting designers’ global responsibility for building sustainable, human-centered, creative societies.
Together, AIGA and Cumulus will promote the value of design in basic education in primary and secondary schools and foster a dialogue with national and international academic institutions and associations. Both organizations will work together to initiate joint projects including competitions, exhibitions and awards to promote innovative work in design and media, and assist academic institutions of design and media in their development. The partnership will broaden the reach of AIGA to academic institutions internationally and give AIGA members access to Cumulus’s professional and educational materials.
Current opportunities for participation
